Full Text RESOLUTION 09-18 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING VILLAGE PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER (VPSO) FAMILY HOUSING PROJECTS TO BE A V AILABLE TO VILLAGES IN NEED OF VPSO HOUSING AND PLACEMENT WHEREAS: Many regional villages are without fully-trained VPSO's mainly due to the lack of adequate affordable family housing; and WHEREAS: Many of our villages lack adequate public safety buildings to utilize as temporary holding facilities and much less, an office for the VPSOs; and WHEREAS: Public safety has been identified as an on-going unmet need in the AFN Region, and proactive action must be taken to better serve our people; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the delegates to the 2009 Annual Convention of the Alaska Federation of Natives request that VPSO Housing and offices be made available to all Alaska Native villages with no housing for VPSO placements for the continued health, safety, and welfare of our People.
